ABC Music & Me is an award-winning enrichment (early literacy and language) program designed by Kindermusik International. ABC Music & Me is a research-based language and early literacy program built around music. ABC Music & Me helps develop pre-literacy and language skills through a child’s most-loved rituals: music and storytime.
Our classes are ongiong with a new "theme" every 4 weeks. We meet at the Community Arts Center in Danville on Monday mornings at 10:00 to sing, move, play, read, and learn together! The cost for each 4 week session is $60 for one child and $36 for a sibling. The Home Kit for each "theme" includes a magazine-style family guide containing stories, activity suggestions, games, and coloring pages for you and your child to enjoy together at home. You will also recieve a CD containing all the songs and poems from class. Every other month an instrument or toy is also included in the Home Kit. ABC Music & Me Classes are open to children Newborn to age 7! At least one parent/caregiver must accompany children to class.
What a Child Will Experience in Class:
- Songs and rhymes to develop phonetic awareness and early reading skills
- Tapping, clacking, and ringing rhythm instruments in time with music to improve hand-eye coordination
- Focused listening with music to improve skills in following directions
- Instrument play to strengthen fine motor skills
- Developmentally-appropriate songs to develop vocal chords and expressive speech
- Learning that emphasizes storytelling, imaginative play, and taking turns

Colors and Shapes on the Farm
September 12th - October 3rd
Mondays @ 10:00 A.M.
Class Description: The title says it all! In this unit, children will take a trip to the farm, where they will encounter colors and shapes as they explore haystacks and hayrides, tractors, barns, and lots (and lots) of animals! A musical storytime with Jenny Jenkins will wrap it all together, as the farm animals all suggest their favorite colors for Jenny to wear!
Take-Home Kit Includes: Box shaker, Home CD and magazine-style Family Guide (includes the class story Jenny Jenkins)
Marvelous Me
October 10th - October 31st
Mondays @ 10:00 A.M.
Class Description: Every little finger, head, shoulder, knee, and toe loves this learning theme—“Me.” In the age of self-discovery, you’ll sing songs together about all things that sprout up and grow, such as tadpoles into frogs, acorns into trees, and baby brothers into big brothers. With Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes, as the central theme and story, you’ll love the bouncy, flouncy, calypso, and ukulele musical sounds, with special featured recordings of children and babies laughing to improve listening and memory skills. Special musical recordings on the Home CD include “Rig-A-Jig-Jig,” “We’ll be Friends for Evermore,” and “The Growing Song.”
